About the Practice
As the founder of Huntsville Laser Center in 1999, Dr. William Mitchell has stayed at the forefront of technology in laser vision correction. Two names have come to define a standard of excellence in vision correction procedures, Dr. William Mitchell and the Huntsville Laser Center.
Most people take a great deal of time researching new technology with certain items in their homes such as computers, televisions, and appliances etc. However, when it comes to their eyes they don’t take the time. Our job is to educate you the patient, and explain why in our opinion, iLASIK™ is the best possible vision correction procedure available today. iLASIK has yielded such superior results, that it has been approved for Naval Aviators and NASA astronauts.
When you have iLASIK at the Huntsville Laser Center, your treatment will be based on specific measurements that will be taken during our extensive pre-operative dilated examination. iLASIK introduces a new level of accuracy to the laser vision correction process.

Meet Dr. Mitchell
A native of Auburn, Alabama, Dr. Mitchell attended medical school at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He then completed a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Tennessee at Memphis. Dr. Mitchell is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the International Society of Refractive Surgery. His extensive experience, together with an unparalleled commitment to offer the latest in procedures and technology to his patients in a caring environment, has made the Huntsville Laser Center one of the leading refractive practices in north Alabama.
Meet Dr. Lee
Dr. Lee grew up in Haleyville, Alabama and has extensive experience and knowledge in all aspects of refractive surgery. He attended the University of Alabama in Birmingham where he received his medical degree and performed his ophthalmology residency training at Maryland General Hospital in Baltimore. After finishing his residency, Dr. Lee went into private practice for several years in Louisville, Kentucky and then returned again to academics, where he received two additional years of fellowship training in Corneal and LASIK surgery at both the University of Louisville, and the University of Texas Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Lee gained vast knowledge and expertise in the areas of Corneal and Refractive surgery as a result of these two additional years of training. He was then able to apply this knowledge and training as one of the Eye Consultants of Atlanta. Here, Dr. Lee served as a referral doctor for patients requiring corneal transplants, LASIK surgery, and complicated cataract surgery.
Although Dr. Lee enjoyed living in Atlanta, the desire to be closer to his family in Alabama has brought Dr. Lee to Huntsville. Dr. Lee joined the Huntsville Laser Center in October 2008 and is thrilled to join such an innovative and technologically advanced practice. Above all, he appreciates the commitment to excellent patient care and will strive to continue this tradition.
Dr. Lee is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the International Academy of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the Cornea Society.
